descriptions of each mold. The results even display whether or not your
home or office contains elevated levels of mold or not.
If you have any reason to suspect mold in your home
or office space, it's imperative to confirm whether it's toxic as soon
as possible. The Pro-Lab Incorporated MO109 offers three sampling
methods. This mold test kit tests for mold in the air using the included
settling plate, and can also test the quality of the air coming through
your ventilation system. Additionally, you can swab visual mold growth
in your home.
When conducting air testing, Pro-Lab recommends
purchasing at least two kits to perform both indoor and outdoor testing
to form a basis of comparison. The outdoor kit serves as a baseline. If
more mold growth occurs in the inside plate than the outside plate, it
is an indication that you may have elevated mold levels inside your
home. You need one kit per area of concern, and each kit can test up to
1,000 square feet within a room.

About the test:
Remove the test swab from the protective tube by firmly grasping the collar or base of the device bulb and the protective tube.
Firmly pull apart the protective tube away from the collar or base of the device bulb. Take care not to touch the swab shaft or swab tip with your hands or any other surface other than the desired test surface.
Using a side to side sweeping motion and slight rolling of the swab device, use the swab to collect as much mold or allergen like substances as possible from the desired test surface. The sample area should be at least 2 inches by 2 inches square.
Testing a surface area less than this may result in a false negative result due to not enough mold or allergen contaminant being collected.
Once the sample is collected, return the swab to the protective tube and snugly put the device back together.
Firmly grasp the reagent bulb and blue plastic stem within the bulb and snap it back and forth a few times to ensure the plastic stem breaks.
Once the plastic stem is broken free, squeeze the bulb to release the liquid reagents down into the protective tube where the swab bud is located.
Gently shake the device back and forth about 5 seconds to thoroughly mix the reagent liquid with the swab bud. The reagent liquid will instantly turn green once it is squeezed into the base of the protective tube. This is normal.
If a detectable amount of old or allergen is collected, the reagent liquid will turn from green to gray or purple within a few minutes indicating the positive presence for mold or allergens. If the reagent liquid remains green or any shade of green after 10 minutes this is indicating the lack of mold or allergen presence on the sampled test surface and the surface is considered clean. This step is very important to follow in order to obtain the most accurate results. Do not read or observe the quick mold test sample after 10 minutes.
Samples read or observed after 10 minutes are not valid due to the chemical nature of the device, which will eventually turn all samples purple with the passage of time greater than 10 minutes. Once the quick mold test sample device has been used and interpreted, it can be safely disposed of. Dispose of the entire test device and do not attempt to pull the device apart once it has been used.
